Tentang Android GMS dan Android OHD

Saat ini untuk urusan distribusi, Android terdapat dua Versi yang pertama adalah Android dengan GMS atau Google Mobile Services dan Android OHD atau Open Handset Distribution.

GMS (Google Mobile Services)

Android dengan GMS adalah Android yang didukung penuh oleh Google. yaitu di dalam ponsel Android tersebut telah dilengkapi oleh fasilitas-fasilitas yang terhubung dengan Google Account kita. Beberapa aplikasi tersebut misalnya, Gmail, Google Contact, Google Calendar juga Youtube.

Selain itu, ponsel Android yang dilengkapi dengan GMS memiliki Android Market. Trus buat apa Android Market?, Well disana kita bisa mendownload atau membeli aplikasi-aplikasi untuk ponsel kita.

Unfortunetley menurut beberapa kabar, Google belum memberi lisensi GMS ini ke stiap negara. Indonesia kita, saat ini, juga merupakan salah satu negara yg belum mendapat lisensi GMS. (Kabarnya dalam waktu dekat ini -Skitaran Feb 2010)

OHD (Open Handset Distribution)

Sedangkan OHD berarti Android yang sangat dasar, belum ada support dari Google sama sekali. Sure, pengguna masih dapat mengakses fungsi-fungsi dasar dari handset seperti smartphone lain, akan tetapi tidak ada Google apps termasuk tidak adanya Android Market.

Kabarbaiknya adalah, ada beberapa aplikasi dari developer yang kemudian membangun portal market aplikasi pengganti dari Android Market, seperti SlideMe. kabarnya,hal tersebut cukup bagus, ada banyak aplikasi-aplikasi yang bisa kita temukan di Android Market, juga dapat ditemukan disana.

My Opinion

Meskipun berbeda versi, GMS ataupun OHD keduanya tetap Android yang menawa. Mnurutku sih, Operator-operator telko masing-masing juga akan membangun applikasi market. Yang bahkan akan bisa diakses oleh perangkat dengan berbagai macam platform, Android, Iphone, BB, Symbian, Moblin, Bada, Winmo atau platform-platform lain dimasa mendatang.

Ini akan menguntungkan buat smua pihak. tentunya buat Developer juga .... so be happy .. :-)

We brought you the promotional packaging for the Motorola Devour. But how would you like some specs? Here we go with the phone formerly known as the Calgary, which we're expecting on Verizon anytime now. (Yes, that's a Droid in the picture above. We're told that's just a placeholder.)

The biggies: Android 1.6 (Donut) with MotoBLUR. A 3.1-inch touchscreen (320x480). 3MP camera. Verizon is requiring a data plan, and the $350 early termination fee is in effect. It comes with an 8GB microSD card.

Still no word on price or when it will go on sale, but we're told it could be anytime now. There's a better breakdown and more screenies after the break.

Google Tablet : Google Pamerkan Calon Penantang iPad

Jakarta - Kemunculan Apple iPad memicu para pesaing mengembangkan teknologi tandingan. Tak terkecuali Google yang diam-diam ternyata membesut software komputer tablet untuk menghantam iPad.

Bahkan, gambar perkiraan tablet Google telah muncul beberapa hari sebelum iPad dirilis pada 27 Januari lalu. Video tentang konsep tablet dengan sistem operasi berbasis Chrome OS ini juga telah mampir di YouTube.

Sebelumnya, Google telah mengumumkan sistem operasi Chrome OS bakal dirilis di tahun 2010 sebagai sistem operasi untuk netbook. Namun sekarang, mereka tampaknya ingin memperluas implementasinya ke perangkat lain termasuk tablet, desktop bahkan televisi.

"Google Chrome OS masih dalam tahap pengembangan dan kami bereksperimen secara konstan dengan user interface bervariasi untuk menentukan desain paling bersahabat," tukas Google seperti detikINET kutip dari InformationWeek, Rabu (3/2/2010).

Google memamerkan konsep tablet tersebut di website untuk para developer Chrome OS. Sepertinya, tablet Google nantinya akan berkemampuan multitasking, fitur yang tidak ada di iPad. Dari rumor yang beredar, Google disebut akan menggandeng HTC untuk membuat tablet itu.

Jika tablet Google benar-benar dirilis, berarti persaingan Google dengan Apple kian sengit saja. Saat ini, mereka telah bertarung di bisnis ponsel di mana Google mengandalkan Android untuk menghantam iPhone. ( fyk / faw )

Huawei manufacturers in Indonesia will launch Android phone touchscreen 2 in Indonesia in the near future. Go mobile with 2 types: HUAWEI U8230, and U8220 Huawei. U8220 series itself was launched with the operator T-Mobile outlet.
